Along with other activities, the 17. Annual SUC Convention included a special IT Program.
The guests from Serbia and Republic of Srpska had a great opportunity to visit IT departments at Berkeley and Stanford University. It is important to point out that there was also signing of the Agreement of Collaboration between the College of Engineering of the University of California, Berkeley, and the Belgrade University. Our delegation was lead by Dean of the Belgrade University, Prof. Branko Kovacevic.
This was followed by the visit to Cisco, a world leader in computer networks and IP telephony manufacturing, as well as visit to AT&T, the biggest US telecommunication company. The group that included State Secretary for Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Society, Mr. Milenko Cvetinovic, Ph.D., Minister for Transportation and Communications, Republic of Srpska, Mr. Nedeljko Cubrilovic, and Director from Telekom Serbia, Mr. Sasa Lekovic, had a chance to see the latest and hottest products and services that Cisco and AT&T currently offer to the market.
The program was wrapped up by the IT Symposium, which was also attended by the Serbian IT professionals working in the Bay Area. The main purpose of the conference was to discuss the future “US-Serbia IT Summit” project, which is being planned for 2008.
